So I have officially jumped on the juicing bandwagon, and I'm hooked...
Sometimes I find myself standing in the kitchen at 2am chopping up my newest organic produce, only to create a green juice concoction as a nightcap (which beats a glass of wine).
While I'm new to the world of juicing, I have definitely created my own recipes, one of which I'll share with you (this one is my fave).
Here's what's in it (and all of this is organic, by the way):
--2 huge kale leaves
--1 green apple
--1 pear
--12 mini carrots
--2 stalks of celery
--1/2 a banana
And after I throw all that into my juicer...I pour it into a shaker bottle (with the little metal shaker ball thingy) and add about a 1/2 cup of plain coconut water to sweeten it a bit.
As this new juicing hobby continues, I'm sure I'll have many more fun recipes to share online (and in person!).
Until then, this yummy green cocktail will remain my main squeeze.
Cheers!

Escaype Enterprises Explains Why Juicing is Couture!
As a recently-joined member of the Netflix cult, I've come across a multitude of life-changing documentaries...many of which have dramatically changed my views on food.
One in particular, Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead ...was amazing.
In this real-life flick, viewers are given a glimpse of what it's like to be overweight (or morbidly obese for that matter) and burdened with the health problems that accompany tipping the scales.
The main guy in this movie introduces us to the world of juicing...and why it's good for us (all the while losing 82 pounds in just 2 months).
Moral of the story: everyone should have a juicer. Throw all your favorite veggies (and fruit too!) in it, and go to town! Your mind, body & soul will thank you for each and every boost in a glass.
I bought my first juicer today...and I'm joining the movement starting this Ash Wednesday. By Easter 2012 I anticipate I'll be healthier than I've ever been in my entire life.
Here's to eatin' your veggies (with a straw, that is)!
