Escaype Enterprises & the Gondol-uggh Ride

Don't let the movies fool you... Venice is totally NOT what it seems.

Sure, it looks romantic... and breathtaking... and like a place all lovers should visit on their honeymoons.

But no! It's definitely not like that in real life.

I visited Venice a few years ago... when there was a major (and we're talking enormous) heatwave.

Venitian tour guides will tell you that an average of 375,000 tourists visit EACH DAY during the summer time (wow, that's a lot of sweaty people).

They'll also tell you that Venice is NOT equipped with a sewage system (or any type of drainage facility) to accommodate all the tourists and their... well, needs to relieve themselves after they eat gelato and drink wine.

So what I'm saying is this: The gondola rides, as enthralling as you may find the singing to be... are NOT fun.

I was in a gondola while the "driver" behind me was singing "That's Amore..." and all the while I was being splashed by the water from the canals which smelled exactly like what it was-- sewage water.

So before you plan that romantic getaway with that special someone, just think twice about where you want to go and what you want to do.

Because if it's Venice you long to see...it may just be cheaper to take your "HoneyLoverMuffin"on a trip to the toilet bowl (so long as you play some Italian music in the background). Now THAT'S Amore!

Becoming a "Person of Pinterest"

Staying in the social media loop can sometimes be like a separate part-time (or full-time for some of you internet junkies) job.

That's why Escaype Enterprises is introducing you to one of the newest and fastest-growing social media networks out there right now... Pinterest !

If you're familiar with it, just read this blog for the heck of it. But if you're one of the many social media buffs who are up to speed with Facebook & Twitter but do NOT know about this new network... read on, friends!

Just what is Pinterest anyway?

Pinterest is a site where you can go to share and organize things you personally find interesting or inspiring (like images, videos, etc.). Once these files are uploaded or shared, these images become known as "Pins," which you can then "attach" on customized, themed Boards. You can create boards for just about any topic... from pets who perform tricks to laughing babies!

In Which Ways Can I Use Pinterest?

Pinterest can be a really cool tool for people with a specific purpose in mind:

-New Year's Resolutions

-Places you've always wanted to travel

-Things you're saving up money to buy,

-or yes...your very own Bucket List (okay, maybe that one is a little bizarre).

So How is Pinterest a Social Media Platform?

Pinning’s more fun when you have someone else to do it with you. You can do this by accessing the "everything" drop-down menu and filter the boards by category. When you see a good "Pin," leave a comment, Like it (just like you do on Facebook ), or "Repin" it to one of your own boards.

And Just How Can You Jump on the Pinterest Bandwagon?

There's a little bit of a "Fight Club" policy if you really want to be part of Pinterest ...That's because you have to be invited! You can sign up for invites on the site (but you'll still have to wait on a response), or chances are you may already know a Pinner who will gladly send you an invite. Ask around... you may be surprised to know that there are active Pinners all around you. Now doesn't that bring a whole new meaning to the phrase, "being pinned down!"

How to Learn More About SEM & Social Media Strategies

It seems that more and more people are jumping on the social media bandwagon...but not just for personal reasons-- We're also doing it in attempts to start up/grow businesses.

Isn't interesting that...

--More than 80% of Americans use a social network.

--1 out of 5 social network users is likely to visit another social site after leaving one.

--81% of small business leaders use social media to get in front of customers, and to find new customers.

Statistics like these are the reasons why we picked up our most recent read... Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs (written by Brian Halligan & Dharmesh Shah).
This book discusses how "outbound marketing" (like telemarketing, direct mailers, radio ads) has now been replaced with new tactics now known as "inbound marketing."

In other words, instead of trying to FIND customers/clients to grow your business, there are certain social media strategies you can implement so your customers/clients find YOU.

By reading this book you'll discover how to improve your Google search rankings, as well as build a blog that will effectively promote your business.

You'll also learn how to create your own community using social media sites, and actually analyze which of your online marketing methods are working, and which ones aren't.

At 215 pages, this book is an easy read and is very enlightening. If you're interested in evolving with today's marketing, we suggest you check out Inbound Marketing.

Take it from us...we're obviously getting found by you, thanks to the new strategies we've learned from the book!
